Lake Region Medical, Ltd., a subsidiary of the closely-held Lake Region Medical in Chaska,Minnesota, today announced that it has acquired Brivant Medical, based in Galway, Ireland. The acquisition was effective July 23, 2009. Terms were not disclosed. Both the American and Irish companies are global OEM leaders for medical device
guidewires and related products for minimally-invasive cardiac surgery and other procedures.
Since Brivant launched the new ‘Twister’ core wire technology at TCT in Washington D.C. last October, market feedback has defined the core wire as performing exceptionally well, particularly in the tortuous anatomies such as the neuro vasculature.
Brivant will be launching their new Twister core wire technology at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2008 Convention at the Washington Convention Centre in Washington DC on 12-17 October 2008.
Brivant Medical Engineering will launch their newly rebranded range of OEM guidewires at TCT 2008 in Washington. The new ‘8 Series’ range of guidewires will include two new guidewires.
Brivant Limited has moved to larger premises in Parkmore West Business Park in Galway. The new 25,000 square feet facility includes a 3000 Square feet Controlled Environment with significant room for expansion.
